(December 8, 2022) Cherronda G., along with Steven Green and Lifeline, revisit a holiday nugget from a legendary vocal group

One of the California Bay Area’s popular vocalists, Cherronda G. has established her own star, including performances at the legendary jazz club Yoshi’s in Oakland and opening for R&B and soul heavy hitters such as Chante Moore. For her accomplishments on the stage, Cherronda earned three Bay Area Music Awards.

Eventually, the singer/songwriter connected with producer Cletus Wills, who brought her into the studio with “You Are My Love,” Cherronda’s debut First Listen spotlight from 2020. Another Wills’ production, “Needing You,” was recently featured on the Latin Smooth Jazz Compilation by Paris Escovedo (son of renowned percussionist Coco Escovedo), which charted on I-Tunes Top 100.

As SoulTracks continues celebrating this Christmas, Cherronda offers a special gift with “Happy Holidays,” a 1979 holiday gem (originally titled “Happy Holidays to You”) recorded by our latest Lifetime Achievement Award inductees, The Whispers. This updated take from Wills and All N2 Muzik Productions spices up the piano anchored soundtrack with a bouncy groove decked with finger snaps without forsaking the song’s welcoming melody.

Cherronda joins vocal ensemble Steven Green and Lifeline in celebrating “Happy Holidays” with a gentle gospel flair that showers the holidays in style and perspective: “Think of how much love you wish to give today/Then wonder why we can't give it all every day.”  Kudos to Cherronda and company for sharing this blissful moment of the holiday season. Listen up!
