(February 26, 2020) With a touch of Motown and a bit of 60s pop mixed in, Chris Ams & The Favorite States  have been paying their dues on the nightclub circuit for years. With front man Chris Ams, Jent Lapalm (bass), Emilio Tostado (guitar), John Guari (keyboards) and longtime SoulTracks friend Drew Schultz (drums), the band is now releasing its debut album, a fun collection that should have classic soul fans cheering.

The eight song collection is the culmination of a lot of hard work, both together as a band and separately as musicians supporting some of soul music’s royalty. And the joy of its release is palpable.

The first single, “Music In Your Love,” has a distinct early Motown feel, with Schultz’s steady beat and the nice interplay of guitar and horns, all fronted by Ams’ understated vocals. We expect that SoulTrackers will be smiling as they listen to this, just as we are.
