Jones released his 2013 debut album, it caused a righteous uproar in the soul music world, winning for him the Best New Artist nod from our readers in the annual SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards. And while he has guested with artists such as James Day and Kejam since then, what we’ve really been waiting for is new music from Cleve. So SoulTrackers will be happy to know that he is working on his sophomore album, Human, which is slated for a Spring 2017 release.
In the meantime, we’re honored to be presenting the World Premiere of a very special song, “Mistakes,” the first single from Human, (and we're doing it on Cleveland's birthday!). Recording with producer Daniel Crawford, the talented Mr. Jones delivers a vocal tour de force, whooping and soaring through the big ballad like he is singing for his musical life.

Cleveland tells us: “I've been holding on to this song for nearly two years and now is the time to simply let it breathe and allow the universe to love on it. ‘Mistakes’ is to the core honest and reflective of how (in the deepest relationship I've ever had) I was a novice to romantic love and it was time to write about it. It was time to confess my wrongs, due to ignorance and fear in my previous relationship. Vulnerability is typically seen as a weakness but my case I've embraced it and grown even stronger as a man and human.”
