(December 30, 2018) Conya Doss’s latest project Clear was well represented on several year end lists. That’s not a surprise. Ms. Doss, as she is known on disc and in the classroom, is one of SoulTracks’ most prolific and best loved performers. And sure enough, she’s featured in the year’s bests list on this site and likely a few others. SoulTracks critics cited “Until,” one of the tracks from Clear, as one of 2018’s top tracks. Doss was Frank Simmons III’s duet partner on “Language of Love,” a track from his album Blacksuite, which was one of the tunes nominated for Song of the Year at our annual Readers’ Choice Awards.

Doss will ring in 2019 with “Back to Us,” the latest single from this highly regarded album. “Back to Us” is a mid-tempo track that finds Doss wrapping her sultry vocals around a song that tells the story two people who take a circuitous journey that brings them back to where they started:  together. Doss drops this cut in time to bring steppers onto the floor this New Year’s Eve. Check it out.
