First Listen: Introducing Cosima

August 26, 2017 -- Cosima is a singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Peckham, South London.  She released her debut mixtape, South of Heaven, late last year and caused an immediate stir in the U.K., where her rich alto voice was compared favorably with that of Sade, and the Daily Telegraph selected her as a Rising Star of 2017.  She favors sparely produced, alt soul/R&B where her big voice is – rightly so – up in the mix and clearly the centerpiece.

We feature here two tracks, “To Build A House” and “Hymns For Him:” the former is a beautiful, piano-anchored ballad showcasing her lyrical depth, and the latter, a sultry, mid-tempo hip swayer. Enjoy.
