(November 4, 2020) David Bray has had quite a career as one of Canada’s leading songwriters. A storyteller at heart, for years he graced other artists with his work before beginning to focus on his own career a few years ago, releasing a string of albums, often recorded with vocalist and musical partner, Lorraine Reid.

David and Lorraine have just teamed on a new single that blends elements of pop and classic soul. “Overdue” is the first single from David’s upcoming album, Land of Extremes. The song features top-notch musicians all around, including Motown legend Bob Babbitt, Garth Hudson of the Band, Colin Linden, Bill King, Gary Craig, Justin Abedin, and David Bradstreet.

David tells us about the single, “I’ve always been inspired by Motown combined with contemporary R&B/neoSoul. This song talks about the frustration of being stuck in ‘day to day’ while maintaining the belief that something good is bound to happen.”
