SoulTracks Sneak Peek: Debórah Bond returns gloriously with "Radio"

(January 18, 2021) She’s the pride of DC and has been one of the undisputed leaders of the indie soul movement for more than a decade and a half. About the only negative thing we can say about singer and songwriter Debórah Bond is that we don’t hear her enough. But after a six year stint touring with Incognito, she has returned with a brand new single that should have her fans around the world grinning ear to ear.

“radio” arrives soon with an irresistible groove, courtesy of an all-star cast of collaborators, including Butcher Brown drummer Corey Fonville, and board masters Adrian Olsen and Dave Darlington. But the real star is Bond’s vocal performance, seamlessly bringing the whole production together. Lesser performers may be tempted to go to 11, overpowering the vibe, but Bond finds the perfect balance, understatedly living inside the song like a lead instrument, while still enchanting with her vocal stylings.
