But producer Bruce Watson wanted to capture that magic when he traveled there to record with noted local group the Dedicated Men of Zion. Consisting of Anthony “Amp” Daniels, Antwan Daniels, Dexter Weaver, and Marcus Sugg, the quartet not only share the blood of kinship, they share a musical bond that is obvious from the first note of their new single, “Can’t Turn Me Around.”
An understated arrangement of keyboards, drums, and electric guitar and bass allows the vocalists to be front and center, providing a gutsy call-and-response that will get you praising along with them. The music is not only spiritually inspiring, it is clear that it has inspired so many other styles of music that were derived from it.
