First Listen: dee Brown wants to "Pop The Question"

    (August 27, 2018) Jazz guitarist dee Brown suffered an unimaginable loss in the 2016 when his fiancée, gospel vocalist Shaunia Edwards, died of a sudden illness. The two were supposed to get married that summer. Certainly Brown, like any person, asked why did this happen? However, as Brown dealt with his grief, his art took him in a different direction.

    Brown’s album, Remembering You, tells the story of the discovery of love between two people who had so much in common – including music. The song featured in this First Listen is a funky George Benson meets Roger Troutman number called “Pop The Question.” The track features Brown’s guitar creativity on an up-tempo track that includes interplay between Brown’s guitar and the talk box. “Pop The Question” brings the kind of energy that comes with moment when asking the love of your life to be a part of your life.
