(November 22, 2022) “Smell Like You,” the last single from British singer/songwriter Demi Jordanae, expressed the feelings experienced by anyone who going through the loss of a loved one. That song captured the profound pain and longing that accompanies the loss of a loved one. That pain triggers a desire to feel anything that connects a person with their departed loved one. In Jordanae’s case, it was a familiar smell associated with the loved one that she wanted to hug until she absorbed that scent. Of course, that’s impossible but we all know that feeling.

Jordanae’s new song, “Serenity,” finds her longing for something that is both elusive and attainable – peace of mind.  Jordanae’s songwriting reveals a level of awareness that belies her age as someone in her early 20’s. Jordanae, as we learned from the earlier release, is somewhat of an introvert. However, she turns out to be a keen observer of the human experience and she writes the things she sees.
