Pullen’s vocal instrument began drawing attention at a very young age. Luminaries in the center of soul music such as Willie Mitchell from Hi records took the 11-year old Pullen under his wing. Soon, Pullen added music promoting to his resume and he was arranging shows by a who’s who of Memphis greats such as the Bar-Kays and the Mad Lads. However, Pullen led a double life as a drug dealer, and he used proceeds from the drug game to finance his music. Eventually, underground activities caught the attention of the law enforcement and Pullen ended up behind bars. Pullen did hard time, but he made the most of it – never giving up on his music dream and completing the project that includes the tune “Make Me Say Oh.” Check it out here.
