(March 29, 2022) Twenty-one years and 17 albums into a career, can an artist really have more to say? If it is independent soul music king Eric Roberson, the answer is a resounding “yes.” He received one of his warmest receptions across the board last year for his powerful single “Lessons,” both in its original form and in an all-star remix. It was voted by our readers as the Song of the Year for 2021, but was just a preview of his much anticipated album of the same name, due on April 1.

Anyone who has seen an Erro concert knows that the show isn’t all about huge life lessons, it is an evening of levity and fun, and the light atmosphere of 2022 shows will be enhanced by his newest cut, “Start All Over Again.” “Start” is a sly midtempo Eric wrote for his wife, on which a man is responding to his woman’s query about his “intentions.” In a clever response he expresses both sensual desires for her and a true lifetime love commitment: “First I kiss you babe, then I love you down. Only to wake up beside you and start all over again.”

Musically, the song has an earworm hook and a vibe that recalls late 80s Frankie Beverly, with solid rhythm section and an electric guitar driving the groove. If the first single got us excited about the upcoming Lessons album, we are positively giddy after this song.

We’re proud to present the Exclusive World Premiere of “Start All Over Again.” Check it out below and get ready to jump on Lessons on April 1.
