(October 7, 2022) Called the “Al Green of New Zealand,” Evan Silva has made a name for himself in the country’s soul music scene since the 1960’s. As a matter of fact, he’s recognized as one of the Australasia region's top soul/R&B artists with a list of impressive achievements in the music industry.

In the summer, we informed you that Evan released his newest (and final) album Reihana St., a fitting conclusion to his decades-long career. His latest single is a beautiful ballad simply titled “She.”  Evan explains the idea of the song:

“Guy meets girl, and immediately it’s like she seems to know him due to her responses. She asks for nothing, her heart for even less...He has a feeling [that] no matter what he says, she is going to touch him deeply in some way.  She comes from an angle he has never encountered before from any other woman he's met...she reads him so well.”

Joining Evan on “She” is fellow New Zealand-based singer Caitlin Smith, a renowned jazz songstress and vocal coach with whom he previously performed duets.  Their voices complement each other’s nicely on this new duet, which can be described as ‘soulful easy listening.’  And on “She”, Evan sounds ever youthful, making it another example of him musically “getting better with age,” as his former drummer Andy Anderson said of him.

For his latest song, Evan described Caitlin’s vocals as “the icing on the cake.”  With that imagery in mind, enjoy a slice of Evan Silva’s music by checking out “She” below.
