(May 5, 2019) Those who saw the Motown 60 special a few weeks ago were reminded -- yet again -- of the vocal force of nature that is Fantasia, as the former American Idol winner took over the show with just a 60 second performance.

It's been that way for over a decade now, as the talented Ms. Barrino has proven herself to be one of the great voices of her generation, whether on stage or on record. In some ways, she is a talent of a prior generation, when big Church-worthy voices like hers and fellow AI alum Jennifer Hudson were better appreciated by popular radio. But even the young'ens today have to stop and take notice when she goes into her full throated belting.

On her newest single, Fantasia takes a more traditional route, delivering a classic big R&B ballad, with some rock underpinnings. Of course she sounds great, and the stylized black and white accompanying video (directed by Derek Blanks) accents the timeless nature of both the message - love so strong it hurts - and the song itself.
