(January 17, 2022) Over the past few years, longtime R&B favorite Hilary Mwelwa (aka Hil St Soul) and producer Regi Myrix have proved to be a potent combination. With hits “One Life” and “No Worries” (ft. Noel Gourdin), the production and singing team have found their way to the top of the soul music charts and reintroduced Mwelwa’s powerful vocals to new fans around the world.

On their latest collaboration, the duo brings in remix master Nigel Lowis to create a tasty midtempo that should join its predecessors to the top of radio lists. “In My Groove” gives a classy adult soul vibe, in a song that Hil St. Soul says is “about working off some of that unwanted stress that accumulates throughout the week with your significant other half.”

“In My Groove” certainly has the feel of a 70s soul gem, and works well with Mwelwa’s expressive lead. She adds about the song, “When I heard the backing track it just had a timelessness about it and I was immediately drawn to it. The backing track reminded me of how music used to be with classic lyrics that speak about real love. It reminded me of the old school jams my folks would get down to back in the day!”

We’re digging this new song and congratulate Regi and Hil for again bringing us the goods. Check out “In My Groove” and tell us what you think.
