(January 25, 2022) In the song “Everything Right,” singer/songwriter Ian Janes tells a relatable story of imperfection, evolution and the hope that growth and a little self-awareness can lead to a second chance. The problem is that the evolution, growth and self-awareness that now come so easily have come after the person he took for granted walked away, and now the words that he didn’t say and the actions he didn’t take haunt him.

“Everything Right” is a song that people can relate to because most of us have been on one side of the situation Janes describes in this song. “Everything Right” is a tune about knowing what to do in retrospect. He brings the advantage of 20/20 hindsight to the song, which in this case is not an advantage at all. “Eveything Right” is musical storytelling at its very best. Janes paints a picture in words and emotions.

Janes and his collaborator Stone Aielli use every arrow in their musical quiver to deliver a song that fuses pop, soul, gospel and jazz. The listener will hear gospel-tinged organs and old-fashioned drums paired with synthesizers, programmed drums and tightly harmonic backing vocals. All of this is brought together by Janes’ old soul raspy and emotive baritone.

“Everything Right” is the latest single from Janes’ Episode Five project that combines his fifth album with book of lyrics, photos and writings, where Janes discusses the creative process. Episode Five can be purchased on Bandcamp and singles from the project will be made available on various streaming services throughout the year. Check out Ian Janes’ “Everything Right” here.
