On his latest track, “Soulscape,” Kearns gives us an audio and visual teat fans get to see the all too rare occurrence of musicians vibing and recording together in a studio.

    Reed players have long been the staple of instrumental jazz so much so that nearly every other instrument gets relegated to the background. Here we get to see Kearns playing off other instrumentalists and giving space for his rhythm section to improvise and engage in a what makes for a dreamily funky musical conversation. Check it out.
