That’s the kind of voice that the talented singer and songwriter possesses. But Jesse wasn’t new to the game when he appeared on that show. Some SoulTrackers may remember him from back in the day when landed the hit single a couple decades ago, “When U Cry, I Cry.”
Jesse is now back and he’s won us over all over again with his breezy new single, “Can’t Live Without Your Love.” Moving smoothly from his expressive tenor voice to falsetto, all over a finger-popping groove, makes this exactly the kind of song that gets us going on a Summer afternoon.

Campbell co-wrote “Can’t Live Without Your Love” with Grammy nominated songwriter Emile Ghantous. “When Emile and I got together and began thinking about ideas to write about, I told him about a relationship I had where the woman made things more difficult than they needed to be,” says the singer. “In the midst of writing a song called ‘It’s Hard,’ Emile came up with this wonderful, uptempo track, which inspired me to write a fresh melody. We ended up taking a sidebar from the song we had been working on, wondering how the relationship would be if I decided to stick with her in spite of the difficulties. ‘Can’t Live Without Your Love’ is me saying, yes, you make it harder than it should be, but at the end of the day, I can’t live without your love. It puts a more positive spin on the situation. We planned to record several more songs before releasing a single, but once we had this one completed, we felt it was such a wonderful, happy go lucky slice of summertime, we knew we had to release it immediately.”
