(September 9, 2019) In the early ‘80s, Detroit native Jimmy Sterling cultivated a devoted following both as drummer for Chairmen of the Board (“Give Me Just a Little More Time”) and as a solo singer for several releases on the now sought-after soul indie label, Ameri-com. Although his recording output since that time has been minimal, he’s remained a prolific presence on the live circuit in his adopted home of Los Angeles.

Sterling recently stepped back into the studio to cut the midtempo mover, “If You Were Me, What Would You Do?” In the capable hands of UK-based T-Groove, the pensive track now boasts a smooth and groovy remix likely to resonate with modern-soul fans both in the States and in the UK, where Sterling’s built a growing audience over the last few years.
