(September 20, 2018) Longtime SoulTrackers know we're big fans of singer and trumpeter Johnny Britt. He was nominated for a SoulTracks Readers' Choice Award for his work as one-half of the duo Impromp2, and we've been following him ever since. Johnny has played with a who’s who of artists and has written hits for the likes of Boney James, The Temptations and more.
Johnny’s Marvin Meets Miles album was an international hit a couple years ago, and now he’s returned with a brand new album that feature such noted artists as Najee and Paul Brown. A bonus single on the album that Johnny will be adding is his tribute to the late, great Aretha Franklin. Johnny tells us, "I was inspired by Aretha Franklin ... as we all were. I was compelled to compose and perform this song with a choir after her passing in honor of her memory. The song is simply titled Aretha'."
