First Look Video: JSWISS basks in a "Beautiful Morning"

Hip-hop artist JSWISS is one of the most creative voices in the game these days. He’s got a flow that is both smooth and rapid fire. His 2019 album Every Word is a Dollar showcased his skills as an emcee who has a unique take on the kind of topics regularly addressed in rap music, from the existence and meaning of God to the giving proper perspective to the importance of money and the tragic fame received by black men and women killed by police.

That explains why JSWISS remained busy during this pandemic year and a half by collaborating with artists from the jazz and classical music worlds on some pretty compelling projects. He worked with jazz pianist and composer Amina Figarova on “Got No Time” where his flow moved in and out of the urgent, percussive arrangement laid down by the band. He also paired with violinist and vocalist Harini S. Raghavan aka Rini on “The Countdown,” a cut that fuses classical and funk music and addresses the same theme of the fierce urgency of now,

JSWISS takes out time to enjoy the sights and sounds of his neighborhood on the “Beautiful Morning,” a laid back track that fuses hip-hop and jazz.  Some of the things JSWISS describes in his trademark flow are good and some are not so good, but they are all a part of the tapestry of early morning life in the place and time that he occupies. And the normalcy that JSWISS describes in “Beautiful Morning” is something that we probably took for granted before last year and the song is reminder of what we are getting back. Check it out here.
