(July 1, 2020) Canadian singer and songweriter Juliane is new to us, and the Montreal-based performer is making her claim directly in the contemporary R&B scene. Her newest single, “Smooth,” feels like it could be 90s Mariah, with a touch of Christina Aguilera, featuring a sultry, soulful sound and immediate production from Steven ‘Maestro’ Robinson (Selena Gomez, Mr. Talkbox).

Finger popping, electric arrangements underpin Juliane’s expressive vocals on the song, which should find an audience with both R&B and pop audiences.

We look forward to seeing where Juliane goes from here. But for now, check out her SoulTracks debut, and tell us what you think about “Smooth.”
