(November 23, 2020) All of us have 'The One'...you know who we're talking about: he pulls out chairs, opens doors, rubs those feet and knows just how you like your takeout, with that extra dash on the side. Not only is he a stone cold gentleman, he loves you like no other and always does 'that thing, that thing, that thiiiiiiing' when you need it most. That sublime type of sweetness what this pair of cousins, Kandy Apple Redd, is singing about in their hypnotic Isotopia label debut single, "Do Things."

Tonysha Nelson and Patavian Lewis have what many consider as the Trifecta: the looks, the voices and the connections, seeing as their grandfather is the one and only Grand Purveyor of P-Funk, George Clinton. Their gifts were honed by paying dues, performing for years with Parliament Funkadelic show after show after show. Their dulcet tones and supple delivery confess how 'gone' they are, all while keeping it vague about how exactly the finessing is taking place: "Boy I hope this never ever blows up your ego, cuz' Boo you the best/you know I cling to you whenever we mingle, and my heart's in a wreck. Must be insane for letting it get this far, but I'm already gone/and if loving you is wrong, I'd rather be wrong, you keep me clinging on."

If you've known that type of synergy with the one you love (or better yet, you get to live it everyday), that's what "Do Things" is all about. Kandy Apple Red will remind you of what that discovery feels like and keep your ears perked for their next delivery of sultry and sweet. In the meantime, Grab that mug of cocoa, cuddle up with your Special One and enjoy the vibes.
