First Listen: Kareemah El-Amin is "Walking in Heaven"

    Kareemah El-Amin converted to Christianity from Islam three years ago. She also returned to her birth state of Michigan after being raised in Indiana. One thing that remained constant for this vocalist, actress, playwright and filmmaker a voice that draws comparisons Phyllis Hyman. She is also a prolific songwriter. Kareemah has written hundreds of songs over the years, primarily in the R&B genre.

    She wrote about 60 gospel songs in the four years since her conversion, and even was finishing of an album containing some of those compositions. However, an inspirational encounter with a friend led Kareemah to pen the five new songs contained on her EP I Have No Tears for Me.
