(August 21, 2017) We don’t run into many singers who also have a Ph.D., but that is the case with Los Angeles-based R&B singer-songwriter, Kelvin Frazier. The Georgia native grew up in a musical household. When Kelvin was a child, he was in a church choir who was directed by his grandmother. As Kelvin grew older, he eventually became the assistant choir director. Once Kelvin left for college, he began performing solo. Kelvin joined the Savannah State University Concert choir and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall.

When Kevin moved on to pursue his doctorate at MIT, he never forgot his passion of music and continued to participate in various choirs. Upon graduating from MIT with a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, he was invited to perform a solo act at the world famous Amateur Night at the Apollo in New York City.

In May 2016, Kelvin moved to Los Angeles to pursue his music career. While in Caliworship he sang backup for such notable singers as Mary Mary and Anthony Brown, but now he is moving to the front of the stage with his own music. And for us, it begins with his powerful new single "Conquer All." Kelvin tells us about the song, "This track speaks to my character of showing love in a world that seems to forget about love. If we start to remember to show love to one another, we will have more unity instead of so much divide and hatred."

It's a great message and a very nice introduction for us to this talented performer. Check out "Conquer All" below, and welcome Kelvin Frazier, Ph.D., to SoulTracks!
