Is It Love?” – the newest single from California’s soulful based duo Kesna Music (Kero One + Esna), sets the tone for their upcoming project due out later this year. Influenced by artists like James Brown, Lynn Collins and Etta James, Kesna Music offers a funky soul track that draws comparisons to the late Amy Winehouse, and Mark Ronson. Comprised of internationally acclaimed producer Kero One, and YouTube star Esna, Kesna Music delivers a sound that is fresh and vibrant yet true to the soulful sounds of the 70's that inspired them. Together with Esna’s vocals, “Is It Love,” utilizes a gritty funk guitar, vintage drum set, and a 5 piece horn section, creating an upbeat vibe for listeners to immerse themselves in.

Here is what Kero One and Esna had to say about the single:

Kero One on producing the track: As a DJ, I was heavy into collecting obscure funk 45's.  I found there were so many artists in the 70's that had that James  Brown funk sound but never quite made it - which inspired me to create tracks like "Is It Love". I began producing this track in 2010 and put it on hold because of other projects. Then after Stevie Wonder contacted me in 2012 and gave me thumbs up on my production, I was confident enough to move forward with this project and put it out for the world to hear.

Esna on writing the lyrics: I just wanted to "warn" people to be careful and not jump into something haphazardly, which I think a lot of  girls do. The song is pretty straightforward and I meant for it to be that way. Just because a guy may buy you a drink or take you home doesn't mean that he's in love with you. I think it's important for girls to guard their hearts.
