First Listen: Khalid Is Feeling “Vertigo”

November 7, 2018 – In less than two years, Khalid has remarkably gone from a teenager self-releasing compelling home-made R&B tracks on SoundCloud to a mainstay on the Billboard charts.  We’ve enjoyed covering his ascendency – we caught him early, SoulTrackers -- and are pleased to report that his artistic growth continues apace on Suncity, his recently-released EP: His songwriting, already quite solid, is even stronger; his voice, even more confident and arresting; and the production, even more adventurous.

We feature here our favorite from the new release, “Vertigo,” a lushly-produced ballad with a majestic melody and all manner of accents borrowed from R&B, hip hop, and 90’s Brit pop.

Enjoy.
