(March 22, 2022) Don’t ever underestimate Kim Tibbs. That was the lesson that music fans around the world learned in 2017 when the singer and musician, long serving a backup role for artists ranging from Billy Ray Cyrus to Lalah Hathaway, moved to the front of the stage for her tremendous debut album, Kim. With that triumph behind her, we don’t expect Tibbs to be under the radar again later this month as she issues her sophomore album, THE SCiENCE OF COMPLETiON VOLUME 1.

Tibbs is all in on the upcoming disc, singing, playing her noted Hammond B-3 organ, and writing galore, as well as attracting top session musicians to put together a lushly produced album that recalls the feel of 70s Philadelphia.

The first single from the disc is “Where Would I Be Without You,” a light disco jam that would have fit nicely in the Candi Staton catalog, circa 1976. With strings, full horn section and that everpresent B-3, the song elegantly coaxes listeners to the dance floor, as Tibbs’ light soprano coos a timeless testament of love and fidelity.

This is a great sneak peek at what’s to come on SCiENCE, and, five years after Kim, a testament by an artist who seems to be hitting her creative peak after so many years of supporting others. Take a listen to “Where Would I Be Without You” below, and enjoy Ms. Kim Tibbs.
