(May 9, 2017) In 1984, The Temptations showed us that chivalry isn’t dead with their now-classic tune, “Treat Her Like a Lady,” which featured then-lead singer Ali-Ollie Woodson.  Now in 2017, the song has been given some new flavor.  And for Kyle Maack, who sings lead on this updated version, it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.

No, Kyle isn’t the Tempts’ new lead singer; rather, he’s Otis Williams’ protégé, a young old soul who grew up idolizing the Emperors of Soul, learning their songs and studying their choreography.  (He’s also connected to The Temptations in other ways -- his godfather Bruce Williamson is a former lead singer of the group; and Kyle performed in the Air Force’s music ensemble, Tops in Blue, as did 20-year Temptation Terry Weeks.)

The son of a musician, Kyle developed a love for R&B at an early age and studied doo-wop, Motown, and the Sound of Philadelphia.  Prior to working with the Tempts, the 23-year-old recorded an album with the Four Tops before even graduating from high school!

True, we many times think that classics should just be left alone, but this particular remake is a great way for soul music fans to be introduced to an up and coming R&B vocalist who’s worked with the greats and is sure to entertain us for years to come.  Kyle Maack ft. The Temptations’ “Treat Her Like a Lady” is available everywhere now!  Check it out and let us know what you think.  Hear how Kyle nails that opening run like Ali-Ollie did on the original.
