(July 9, 2022) Lance Vantile Whitfield is not your typical Jack of All Trades. The son of legendary theater pioneer and acting coach Vantile Whitfield, he has mastered many things. He’s a bassist, graphic designer, music video producer, songwriter, and, as his new song “Hold On” shows, a talented singer as well.

Whitfield first picked up the bass at 13 when his uncle gave him one as a Christmas gift, and his work on “Hold On” allows Whitfield to showcase his skills as a funk bassist. Whitfield’s bass work establishes an energetic and upbeat foundation for the kind of inspirational tune that the world needs right now. “Hold On” finds Whitfield encouraging listeners to endure during times that can be challenging and, in some cases, even tragic. The tune is not religious.

Whitfield does not quote scripture, but the themes of elevating your mind and staying positive through hardships can be found in all inspirational texts – religious and secular.

The song and accompanying video set a celebratory tone. Check out Lance Vantile Whitfield’s “Hold On” here.
