World Premiere Video: Latoya Cooper shines with "Hear Me Roar"

(June 16, 2017) Dallas-based singer, songwriter and musician Latoya Songstress Cooper has developed her own musical style, a smooth, soulful blend of Neo-soul, Jazz and Latin influences. And her lyrical take on her songs is all her own, too.

Resilience is key throughout life's ups and downs, and for LaToya, her new single "Hear Me Roar," is a triumphant expression of that claim. Inspired by personal life experiences, the brand new song is the title track and lead single from Latoya's new EP, her first project in four years. The song is an uptempo, electro-soul number that marks a big shift in sound for Latoya, whose jazz influences shine bright in her previous work.

She tells us, "From my personal battle with depression to love affairs gone wrong, "Hear Me Roar' is a true reflection of experiences and situations that have happened in my life. This song embodies my signature eclectic energy with a touch of something artistically refreshing and vulnerable. It's about self-reflection, empowerment and embracing truth in the weakest moments. I aim to inspire you in your darkest hour and feed your soul, while stimulating your modern music palate."

Latoya sounds great as always on this beat-filled new song. Check out our World Premiere for the “Hear Me Roar” music video, and enjoy Latoya Cooper!
