(May 26, 2020) Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Lauriel Michele is a sort of Renaissance Woman: In addition to her own work as a musical artist, she has produced other artists, has authored two books of poetry, and is a true storyteller.

That all comes through in her newest release, A Portrait in Blue, on which the indie artist weave stories of love and life.

The first song from the project is one that hit us square. The downbeat “Timeless” has a neo-soul groove and lyrics that tell about how love remains constant, even in a world of changes and sometimes tragedies.

Lauriel tells us about the song, “While I was writing the album, I received several calls from friends who were experiencing the sudden loss of loved ones, so many had loss their mothers, children, spouses etc.  I just wanted to find the words to nullify some of their pain, while respecting their grief. I wanted to find a way to assist them during the process, to somehow give them that same understanding of death that I had been fortunate to received through my experiences, that inner knowing of death being transitional that I had received, which had afforded me so much comfort through my own losses. My hope was in that understanding it would ease some of their pain and help them see death not as finite but to the contrary, to know that we are infinite beings and that love is the one common ground that those who experience loss, can continue to hold in common with the loved ones who cross over… Love remains the common tie that binds us even after death and beyond what we perceive as time.”
