After several more solo singles and collaborations with dance music producer, Artone, Nikol is now working on a long anticipated upcoming project, Who Am I. And her sophomore appearance on First Listen presents Who Am I’s lead track, “Get It On.”  Describing the heartbeat behind “Get It On,” Nikol states: “It’s about the feeling that draws you to a person, but you can’t really put it into words why you just need to be with him/her.” In every which way, “Get It On” shouts grown folks, nineties kind of love, enhanced by slow, grinding funk edged soundtrack, and capped by a snazzy synthesizer solo from fellow countryman, producer/musician BOYAN.  Furthermore, Nikol’s raw story telling abilities are sound, as the song eases from slight hesitation to a fully confident lover ready for romance. In other words, Nikol clearly knows who she is.  Check it out below.
