“Down to the Hearth” provides a warm Jazz Funk Fusion experience as Miller lays down a steady bass popping foundation aided by precision drumming on top of synthesizer layers and a simmering organ solo.  Miller’s steady production and arrangements may be somewhat simplified, but the funk undertones and improvisations undoubtedly hold down “Down to the Hearth” for the five minute plus ride.
