(June 9, 2020) Chicago son Marshall Titus built a national following for himself in the 1980s via several independent singles and a winning run on Star Search. Simultaneously enjoying a run of releases in Europe spanning pop to garage house, he broke through at the turn of the millennium with several soulful independent CDs which garnered success in the UK and Germany. The positive response to his music in the latter country inspired him to adopt Hamburg as a second home and proclaim himself a “Chi-Burger.”

Titus’s new single, the first to be lifted from his forthcoming EP, The Marshall Plan, is an optimistic and reassuring ode to unity entitled “Can Only Get Better.” Exuding his husky and heartfelt vocal style, the tune’s engaging pulse and melodic serenity are just what the doctor ordered during this period of emotional turbulence and physical strife around the world. His colorful video treatment of the song—contrasting vivacious scenery with striking representations of current social distancing circumstances—richly enhances its message.

Titus says of his newest work, “We are living in one of the most extraordinary times in human history, and music has never played a more important role in our lives as it does now. I pray that my songs lift, encourage, and help you get through these unprecedented times.”
