(June 11, 2017) As a veteran music minister who has built a loyal following with Commissioned and his own solo career, Marvin Sapp realizes how to tap into those who are living through their storms, including his deeply personal testimony from a decade ago, “Never Would Have Made It.”  For his latest single, “Close,” the title track to his upcoming eleventh release in late September, Sapp encourages the body of Christ in preparing for their own adversity to build their faithfulness to God:  “Here comes confusion, problems and enemies/I just believe that I must be close to what You have for me.”

Besides the overriding message for “Close,” Sapp’s convicting delivery without the over the top vocal tricks remains one of his strongest assets along with the sweet, flowing orchestrations from his longtime producer, Aaron Lindsey (Israel & New Breed).   Gifted as a music and pulpit minister, Sapp always provides relevant antidotes when dealing with life’s challenging times.
