First Listen: Monique Brooks-Roberts feels the "Night Life"

    After years of fronting the contemporary jazz/R&B group, Tru Vibe, violinist/vocalist/songwriter Monique Brooks-Roberts has stepped out on her own and launched her solo career with the new single, “Night Life.”

    Once a member of the Philadelphia String Quartet, Monique has done studio work for Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys and Common. In addition, she has performed live, supporting Yasiin Bey/Mos Def at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. Besides her work with Tru Vibe, Monique can be heard on Rajdulari’s second album, Journey Of A Woman.

    Monique wrote “Night Life” with some lyrical input from Rajdulari, while husband J. Aaron Brooks-Roberts manned the production boards and instrumentation. The single is now available for download via iTunes and Google Play, as well as Spotify.
