(September 27, 2018)  “Music is an outlet that allows me to express myself in full form.  I want my music to reach people where they are. In listening, it’s my hope that they are encouraged to keep pressing through this life, while grooving to some good ol’ soul music,” says Saginaw born and Detroit raised Monique Ella Rose.

Rose also seeks to use her music to inspire herself and those who listen to persevere. That is the message of her latest single, “Don’t Quit.” The track sports a sparse, percussive arrangement that that has the feel of a person marching into battle, and that arrangement matches lyrics that appear to come from a mother dispensing marching orders to her child as she (or he) prepares to take on the world. “She said baby don’t let this world pass you by/Get out there and participate in life.” Those are strong opening words from parent to child and the pearls of wisdom and waters of inspiration flow from there.
