A decade ago, Montell retired from the music industry to take on full time ministry, but he returned earlier this year with the infectious hit, "When I'm Around You," featuring LeCrae. Now he has issued a full new album that should please his longtime fans, and which could make him some new ones. Masterpeace is a melodic bunch of tunes that harken back to the best of 90s R&B, but with a fresh updating.

"First Date" is a great example of the new music, a nice midtempo that shows off Montell's still attractive falsetto, wrapped around a song that tells the story of the anticipation of getting together with someone special, and treating it as if it were the first time together.
