(June 23, 2018) Nao Yoshioka became a SoulTracks favorite in 2015, when her debut album The Light and lead single “Make the Change” helped her capture New Artist of the Year during the Reader’s Choice Awards. Yoshioka comes from Japan, but has been working in the United States, and the results of that work come shining through on “I Love When,” her latest release from her upcoming project titled The Truth. Yoshioka tapped top-flight talent such as Khari Mateen and Carolyn Malachi to work on this record and it shows. “I Love When” is a lush and sensual record that revels in saying just enough to pique interest and arouse sensation.

"I thought it was important to have ‘I Love When’ as my first single because it truly encompasses the new direction in my style and sound,” Yoshioka states. “I am constantly evolving as an artist and am inspired now more than ever by all genres and kinds of music. I believe ‘I Love When’ shows that evolution and growth from my last record. It is also a very personal song to me and one that I've been wanting to write for a long time."
Viewing the accompanying video shows that New York influenced Yoshioka in another way. The video is set in a virtual reality arcade, and “I Love When” serves as the soundtrack for a fantasy of choreographed passion. Check out the video and song here.
