Philadelphia born, Munday’s got his chance to work in the industry as the lead singer and guitarist for the group The Beck Family. Mundy was all of 13-years old at the time. Later, he served as musical director and guitarist for another Philly home grown group, Sister Sledge. Eventually, Mundy moved west with $100 and a one-way ticket in his pocket and 14 songs in his guitar case to pursue his musical dream.

That’s the story of thousands of men and women who came to Hollywood with plans of becoming stars. Some made a mark in the industry as singers, musicians, songwriters and producers. Sadly, others found themselves in cautionary tale songs like “Do You Know the Way to San Jose.” Mundy’s four plus decade career as a hitmaker for other artists, musician and solo artist places him firmly in the first category. He’s been nominated for Grammys and written songs for artists as varied as Chico DeBarge and Janice Ian. Mundy released his last solo project, Just Songs, in 2008, but he has made a strong return with his latest, “Swing With Me.”
Mundy takes the tempo down real slow on this song that finds him stepping fully into the sound of Minneapolis. “Swing With Me” is a slow, funky ballad that finds Mundy adopting a conversational falsetto as he lets a woman know that if she is ready to get off the fence and make a commitment, they can have a real good time.
