(June 6, 2019) Louisiana native Ollie Gabriel was introduced to the American people on the new NBC series Songland. Songland pulled back the curtains on how today’s hit records are made. Five songwriters competed and performed their original song for the chance to have it recorded by a celebrity artist. In the May 28, 2019 premiere, Ollie performed and pitched an original song to John Legend

Ollie is not new to the music scene. He had a hit in Europe last year with “Running Man” and he won a Hollywood Music In Media Award for Best Male Vocal.

Ollie will reveal more of himself in the upcoming six-song EP, The Good Fight, on which he shows his soul credentials as well as his concern for modern social issues. And now he leads off with a lush ballad “Something New,” a number that has a classic vibe that is a little bit Sam Cooke and a little bit John Legend.

“Something New” is our newest First Listen. Check out the brand new video for the song below and welcome Ollie Gabriel to SoulTracks
