(December 31, 2017) Back in 1985, the legendary family group The Winans released Let My People Go, their most commercial album to date, and a disc that became a crossover smash. The opening track on that album was “Choose Ye,” an upbeat number featuring Vanessa Bell Armstrong that posited a fundamental challenge that Christians, and others, face everyday.
It has been a generation since that song graced popular radio, and now contemporary Gospel artist Philip White has brought it back to us in a fashion that is both fresh and faithful to the original. Produced by two time Dove Award nominated Phil Hughley, and featuring Philip’s wife Dianita in a duet, the song reminds us of how great a composition “Choose Ye” is, and also introduces us to the formidable talents of Mr. and Mrs. White.
The single will be available for pre-order in all digital stores including Itunes, Amazon, Tidal and Spotify in January 2018, and is the intro to the forthcoming album Heart To Heart, due in stores April 6th, 2018.
