First Look: Porcelan is a Superwoman on "Lois Lane"

(July 17, 2018) Memphis-based singer-songwriter Porcelan is making inroads with her new single, “Lois Lane.” In the Erik White-directed video, the blonde-wearing songstress plays the damsel in distress while her love interest acts as her highly-protective bodyguard. It’s as if they’ve pulled a few pages from the Kevin Costner-Whitney Houston playbook. This inspiration from The Bodyguard is a perfect fit when layered with the lyrical depth inside Porcelan’s pleas (“Put on your cape/I need you”). Sultry slow jam beats flow evenly from the speakers as she convinces her hero to save the day: “I need you for you to come and save me/from all the bad ones for me.”

Right now, radio is striking up its superpowers for the single, where it has so far climbed to number 24 on the Billboard urban AC charts. And the good news continues to spread for the Made in Memphis Entertainment-signed artist, thanks to being named Independent Artist of the month by iTunes during Black Music Month.
