(October 8, 2018) Raja-Nee first came to the attention of R&B listeners in 1994 with an album for super-producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis’s Perspective Records. Scoring a pair of radio hits with the catchy “Turn It Up” (produced by the duo and featured on the soundtrack of A Low Down Dirty Shame) and “Walking Away with It,” fans were left wanting for more when the label folded and the stylish vocalist seemed to drop out of sight.

Following several independent projects in recent years, Raja-Nee has returned with a markedly different kind of groove, slow and understated with a refreshingly cool and comfortable vocal treatment of take-no-prisoners lyrics. The single, entitled “I Don’t Want You No More,” finds her confidently walking away from an emotionally draining relationship and accepting the changes that are to come. It’s a promising preview of her upcoming album, The Sovereign of 14742. Take a First Listen below and let us know your thoughts!
