His story is familiar: Saint Smith grew up in a religious household, so the sounds of the church served as his gateway to music. However, Saint Smith also listened to secular music with D’Angelo and Whitney Houston being early influences. Those who hear this award-winning artist on his new single “Round and Round” will hear a vocalist who possesses a maturity beyond his years. While other singers hide behind technology or seek to appeal to the youth oriented market by leaning vocally and lyrically toward hip-hop, Saint Smith leans confidently into the classic soul music themes of using silky smooth vocals, honesty and heart and hand vulnerability to a story about a man who wants the ride on the emotional carousel to stop.
