And these two interesting acts have come together on the new single “Outside the Blue,” a modern song that bears a lot of familiar influences.
(September 25, 2019) Here’s a combination worth waiting for: We’ve been following Sydney, Australia born, LA based Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and producer Sam Sparro for awhile, and the same for the much praised act We Are KING (formerly just known as KING). And these two interesting acts have come together on the new single “Outside the Blue,” a modern song that bears a lot of familiar influences.
“Outside the Blue” has the vibe of a late 80s or early 90s R&B hit. Sparro provides an understated lead over the electronic mix, and the sisters of We Are King blend perfectly, as usual. “The twins are the most incredible muses and collaborators. We were fans of each other’s work before we became friends. We are in love with a lot of the same music which made working together easy,” notes Sparro. “It’s always special to make music with good friends, and even more a pleasure to create with a friend like Sam, with whom we share so much of a musical background,” adds We Are KING’s Paris Strother. “‘Outside the Blue’ is our collective dreamscape come to life--it was a beautiful experience to weave together textures, sounds and lyrics to create our own utopia.”
