Sans Elle, whose name means ‘Without Her,’ grew up listening to an eclectic selection of music ranging from Debussy & Gershwin just to Sting and Stevie Wonder. That love is disparate sounds continued as she developed as a singer, pianist and composer, and it pervades her debut album, Beyond.

We especially took a shine to the song “Better Life,” a song Sans Elle says is a tribute to the group Incognito. She also says: “The song is an invitation to reconsider what really matters here and now. As a matter of fact, it is a call for more tolerance and awareness. We all face inner contradictions between our lifetime personal aspirations and the need to think more 'global' and preserve nature. That's our challenge but it is worth it
