World Premiere: S.E.L wows us on "Melodic Harmony"

(May 10, 2021) We’ve been following UK singer S.E.L (Soulful Emma-Louise) for the better part of a decade, but we’ve never had the pleasure of hearing a full album from the former Soul II Soul singer. That ends this spring with the long-awaited release of Loc’d In Consciousness (click on link to hear clips), and let me just say, it was worth the wait.

Loc’d is a dance music lover’s dream, reminiscent of the best music of The Brand New Heavies, but with all that goodness brought forward into a modern package. Filled with live funk beats and sweet soulful melodies, it reminds us of just how rich the soul sounds of the late 80s and early 90s were.

There isn’t a bad song on the disc, but we’re particularly excited about the first single, “Melodic Harmony.” It is a bright, blissful upbeat number featuring alternating staccato and smoothly soulful vocals and a groove that goes on for days.

This is one of the best songs from one of the best albums we’ve heard this year, and we’re proud to share its associated video as a World Premiere. Please take a moment to check this joint out below. You may just have a new favorite.
