(April 21, 2018) Sheena O. Murray is a multi-faceted artist who has explored the worlds of poetry and acting in addition to her work as a solo R&B singer. She recently starred in a production of the musical Dreamgirls. Not bad for a person who admitted that she was once painfully shy. She still may be, but one thing that we know is the stage often serves as a refuge for performers.
On her latest track, “Do For Love,” Murray immerses herself in a story of a woman who trying to find the balance of maintaining love while not losing herself. The track is stripped down and intimate, with acoustic guitar and flourishes of keyboards and bass providing space for Murray’s vocals that find her walking the tightrope between independence and longing.
